Hotel Spooktacular

|

Count Gavula’s Hotel Spooktacular were due an inspection. Mr Salt and Mrs Pepper arrived with low expectations as previous inspectors had failed the hotel for not being spooky enough!

The team did not fail this time! With a resounding score of 60/20!  The witches’ potions made electrifying webs and the zombies made the terrifying noises. Chainsaw Jack, skeletons, Frankenstein’s monster, The Beast and dancing ghosts all helped to provide the hotel with a glowing report.

Count Gavula gave the staff the night off for their amazing efforts. Movie night was a success …and an unsuspecting audience member provided the tasty treats thanks to Chainsaw Jack’s great carving skills.

‘The hills are alive with the sound of music! ‘…

GC have been rehearsing and fine tuning for the weeks leading up to the performance. Jules Walker and Penny Marten-Smith supported the participants every week at the Wednesday workshop. The ideas came thick and fast and these eventually turned into Hotel Spooktacular with Count Gavula’s own original song to kick off the show. Final rehearsals intensified when fellow members, Ed Gaughan, Peter Smith and Philip Robinson of the Inspiring Arts team joined Jules to pull together the sound, lighting and artistic direction. This year the exceptional make-up and costumes added ever more gruesome horror to the show. There was still time for a fish and chip meal before the show thank you Graylings!

The audience, including the mayor, were keen and eager and thoroughly enjoyed the show (except the one that provided the treats! – we didn’t see her again!). This fantastic production showing off the talents of all the members of Get Changed Theatre company, their dancing, acting, and song writing talents at their best. We are keenly looking forward to a bigger production early next year. Look out for us!
